DESTRUCTION To Release 'D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.' In August

April 21, 2008

German thrash metal veterans DESTRUCTION are scheduled to enter Hansen Studios in Ribe, Denmark today (April 21) with producer Jacob Hansen to begin recording their new album, entitled "D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N." An August 29 European release is expected.

"Celebrating 25 years of DESTRUCTION is, of course, an additional motivation to record a new classic," comments DESTRUCTION frontman Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer. "But the band has never before been so well prepared for a recording, and the new material is very dynamic crashing straight in your face! All thrash maniacs can now look forward to a merciless and varied album which will put its predecessors in the shade! Beware!!"

There are also plans for a full DESTRUCTION DVD release later in the year all in the cause of celebrating one-quarter century of classic German thrash metal with all the faithful fans worldwide.

Fan-filmed video footage of DESTRUCTION performing the song "Beastial Invasion" on November 12, 2007 at the Soundhaus, Glasgow, UK can be viewed below.

DESTRUCTION's "Thrash Anthems" album, a collection of reworked/re-recorded versions of the band's classic tracks, was released in January 2007 via AFM Records. The CD was recorded at House of Music Studio in Germany) and Little Creek Studio in Switzerland with almost the same team that worked on the group's "Inventor of Evil" CD: DESTRUCTION's live sound engineers Gerd Krenz, Franky Winkelmann and GURD/POLTERGEIST mastermind VO Pulver. The tracks were mixed by one of the best metal producers in Europe Jacob Hansen, the Danish producer and INVOCATOR singer and guitarist.
